Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City (often be called Saigon by the locals) – the most developed city located in the southern region of Vietnam! Upon your arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport, you are welcomed by your tour guide and travel to hotel in city center for check-in. Rest of the day will be at your own leisure for refreshment.
After breakfast at hotel, you will travel to Cu Chi Tunnels which most of lie deep down to the ground for very interesting and detailed information about Vietnam War. Finishing the exploration, you will get back to the city center for lunch. After lunch, you will visit main symbolic sites of the Ho Chi Minh City including War Remnant Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, Reunification Palace and Nguyen Hue Street. This evening is at your leisure.
After breakfast at hotel, you will depart to the south of city reaching Mekong delta regions. The amazing trip will bring to you most authentic countryside of Mekong delta, fruity orchards and local floating inhabitants. Travel to Ben Tre, the famous and hometown of coconuts, and reach the Phong Nam Pier to board a boat along An Hoa River for further exploration with stops to visit the brick kiln, handicrafts and coconut candies making workshop. Next have a Vietnamese tuk tuk ride passing coconut and fruit plantations. You then will stop for lunch at a local house sited nearby the river. After lunch, you will have time relaxing on the hammock or walk around and see the fruit orchids. Thereupon, get on the sampan row and then motor-boat to return to mainland where your driver is awaited. Travel back to Ho Chi Minh City; and you will reach the hotel this late afternoon.
Have leisure time at your own for shopping or getting around the town. After check-out, your local tour guide and driver will greet you at hotel lobby and travel to Tan Son Nhat Airport and take the domestic flight to Da Nang. Upon your arrival at Da Nang Airport, you are greeted by the local guide and driver then travel to your hotel in Hoi An.
This afternoon, you will travel to Hoi An Ancient Town where was a bustling trading port of Vietnam. The Japanese and Chinese traders (others could be named are Dutch, Italian, etc.) came back and forth so regular that they even resided here in the town as locals. When they left, their houses, restaurants, etc. became legacies. You will walk along streets by streets and stop at old houses whose designs are influenced by the oriental and colonial architects, museums with vivid collections of livings, and religious temples, etc. Soon, you will find the iconic “Pagoda Bridge” and learn the interesting stories happened time ago. After a long walk, treat yourself at a nice and boutique café named “Reaching Out” to sip a tea cup and have some refreshment.
Finishing the walking tour, you will travel back to your hotel by car.
Tips: If you are still eager to discover the town, you can get a bike and have a pleasant ride to the town at your own. The town gets busier at night with traditional activities, eating, dining, café, etc.
After breakfast at hotel, you will jump on a bike and ride to countryside area of Hoi An and delve yourself into peaceful ambience. You will reach Tra Que vegetable village where you can follow a villager and see dozens of herbs categories, vegetables and even join their works to plow the land, plant the veg and do watering. After experiencing local daily works, you will relax and have lunch of tasty local cuisines served with the vegetable harvested from their garden. Following is the foot massage. You then, will have some time to relax on the hammock before the cycling back to hotel early this afternoon.
This afternoon is at your own leisure. You can get to the beach for relaxation or chill-out at hotel.
This morning, you will check-out hotel and travel to Hue via Lang Co Beach and Hai Van Pass that you can stop en route and take photos of the breathing view of ocean.
This afternoon, you will visit the Imperial Citadel built since Gia Long King ruling and listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESSCO in 1993. As time goes by, the citadel is still there and remains partly; but it worth a visit to the city’s symbol. Move on with Thien Mu Pagoda meaning “Mountain of Lady from Heaven” with the seven-storey tower named Phuoc Duyen.
Optional activity: If you wish to try local train but you are afraid of tiredness due to the noise and too basic standard amenities on train, here is your chance to overcome all these obstacles. The local tour guide and driver will transfer you to the Da Nang Rail station and get the 1.5-hour train to Hue. This short ride offers unique opportunity to incredible view of the ocean as the railway is pretty closed to it.
This morning, you will stroll to the Dong Ba Market to have a closer understand on local’s living style and afterward, you will get to a pier and embark the local boat getting along Perfume River. After 1.5-hour leisure on boat, you will reach Minh Mang Temple and pay a visit to the tomb of some 40 monuments.
In the afternoon, after checkout you will travel to Phu Bai Airport and take the domestic flight to Hanoi. Upon your arrival at Noi Bai Airport, greeted by your local driver and tour guide and then travel to hotel.
After breakfast at hotel, you will delve into the marvelous city tour discovering Hanoi. Begin with the Tran Quoc Pagoda sited at the peninsula on West Lake – the biggest lake in Hanoi (around 5.3sqkm). Apart from its remarkable location, Tran Quoc Pagoda is the oldest pagoda in Vietnam dating back 6th century. You will find the solemn ambience and peaceful feeling when staying here, especially in the morning with fresh air. Moving on to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum sited right at the Ba Dinh Square where preserves Ho Chi Minh President’s embalmed body by technique of Soviet Union. Nearby the mausoleum, you also have chance to visit Ho Chi Minh’s house-on-stilts where he stayed in the last eleven years of his life; and the President Palace where still is functioned for politic receives and working place of the incumbent leader. Thereupon, let’s stop at a local restaurant and have delicious lunch of authentic dishes of Vietnam and Hanoi.
After the lunch, you then will discover Hanoi Old Quarter by strolling around the matrix of small but crowded alleys and streets. The place used to the busiest commercial hub between Vietnamese and Chinese traders which made every single street’s names unique and typical by one meaning. The tour guide will help you break the mysteries. During the walking tour, you will stop at a local café for a cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee (Nâu Đá – Iced coffee/ Cà Phê Trứng – Egg Coffee or Trà Đá – Vietnamese iced tea, etc.) When you are refilled after the walk, let’s carry on exploring the last one: Temple of Literature built since 1070 well-known as the first university of Vietnam. Finish the trip; you will travel back to hotel.
After breakfast at hotel, you will check-out the rooms and travel to Ha Long Bay passing the Red River Delta of villages and towns. After around 2.5 hours, you will reach the marina harbor and embark the cruise and set the sails toward captivating Ha Long Bay with thousands karst islands merging up from the ocean. The sails will take a couple of hours till you reach the center for activities like kayaking in the lagoon and visiting the cave. In the evening, the boat will anchor down for overnight. You are free on board at night.
For morning risers, you are encouraged to wake up early at around 6:00am to practice the Tai Chi exercise on the top deck with the master on board. After your breakfast, you will have time to go swimming on the Titop Island and walking up to the peak for Ha Long Panorama view. Then, you will get back to the main land. Spend your last time to enjoy the fantastic scenes of Ha Long Bay. At noon, disembark the boat and travel back to Hanoi. En route, you will head to Noi Bai Airport for your outbound departure.
