Welcome to Siem Reap, the gateway to renown and mysterious Angkor Temples. Siem Reap is also an alluring province with visits to village life on Tonle Sap Lake the great fresh lake uniquely with tide changes every year. Apart from this, Siem Reap’s neighborhood offer amicable and tranquil countryside.
Upon your arrival, you will be greeted by your local tour guide and take private transfer from Siem Reap Airport to hotel for check-in.
Today, you will travel into the jungle when hiding Angkor Temples dating back from 9th to 15th centuries. Head to the south gate of Angkor Thom, mean “Big City” with the defensive walls up to 12 km, you will walk along 2 terraces of 54 figures in the Hind myth Churning of the Ocean and 54 demon gods pulling a snake’s tail. Right walking through the gate, you will behold the fascinating Bayon Temple best known for its gigantic sculptures of smiling Buddha faces representing the protection of the Citadel from four directions. The venturing in Angkor Archeological Park will lead you to Baphuon Temple dating back in 11th century, Phimeanakas Temples, the Terraces of Elephants and Terraces of Leper Kings of 360m long wall as the eastern boundary of the Royal Palace.
In the afternoon, explore the astonishing Angkor Wat Temple which is the largest temple with its highest tower at the center of 65m; and the only temple whose entrance facing toward the West in the association to Vishnu. Getting around the temple walls, you will discover plentiful elaborate sculptures, a gallery of nation’s religions, cultures and histories. Angkor Wat remains a significant religious venue of Siem Reap and Cambodia these days. Lastly, visit the renown and interesting Ta Prohm Temple which is having a tight embrace of jungle. Have a delightful walk and imagine the footsteps of Lara in the movie Tomb Raider.
After breakfast at hotel, you will travel to Kompong Pluk, a floating village on Tonle Sap Lake. This area is a cluster of 3 villages making up population of somewhere 3,000, and also featured with a vast mangrove forest. The boat trip will take you along the village and behold the fishing village life, local schools, pagodas and dozens of houses on stilts on water of up to 9 meters high. Afterward, you will travel back to Siem Reap and have free time at your own leisure.
In the evening, enjoy the marvelous show Phare - The Cambodian Circus of thrilling performances as the combination between lively traditional music, acrobatics, theater and circus. The artists are young but talented from Phare Ponleu Selpak Artistic NGO who train and provide education to the poor Cambodian students. Within only one hour, the performances reveal many cultural and historical stories of Cambodia.
At your leisure till good time, you will meet up with your tour guide and take private transfer from Siem Reap to airport for your flight to next destination.
