Constructed from 2009 – 2013, this 666-meter-long bridge contains 6 traffic lanes and provides the shortest road link from the airport to the city center. The peninsula covers an area of 60 km2, stretches 13 km2 and consists of several unspoiled beaches, hills and peaks, among which Ban Co (Chess Board) Peak is the highest one at an altitude of 670 m. Being a real challenge for the bravest travelers, it offers thrilling experiences with rocky cliffs on one side and an astonishing ocean view on the other.
Since the completion of the Hai Van Tunnel, conquering Hai Van Pass has been much safer now. You can rent a scooter in the city to explore the pass yourself, or catch a cab if you’re not comfortable with this vehicle.
The Marble Mountains Da Nang are a group of five limestone mountains located only 8 km from the city center, a natural masterpiece gifted to this land. Named after the five Feng Shui elements (Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth), these mountains offer a great view of the area and are home to a variety of marvelous caves, tunnels, temples and pagodas. Among them, Thuy Son (the Water Mountain) is considered the largest and most gorgeous with the most tourist attractions to discover.
The Marble Mountains opens from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm daily and costs about $1.6. You can walk up them yourself, or use the elevator for an extra $0.6. If you want to hire a tour guide, the fee would be around $2.
Lying about 40 km southwest from the center, Ba Na Hills is a huge theme park that combines relaxation and entertainment with modern services. It looks like a mountain village at an altitude of 1,500 m with medieval architecture, but inside it are French-styled villas, lavish restaurants, pretty gardens, a high-class resort, a vibrant game zone, and more. The newest and most prominent addition to this complex is the Golden Bridge, a 150-meter-long bridge held aloft by a giant pair of hands that was voted by TIME magazine as one of the “Top 10 best destinations of the world” in 2018.
On the way to Ba Na Hills, you’ll also experience the fantastic Ba Na Cable Car, which holds the world record for the longest non-stop single-track cable car at 5,801 m in length. This area opens all day and costs about $36.5 per adult, including round-trip cable car and admissions to the most popular destinations.

My Quang is a noodle dish originating from Quang Nam Province – Da Nang’s friendly neighbor. Banh xeo, literally “sizzling cake”, got its name from the sound it makes when being fried on a searing hot pan. This is a savory pancake made of rice flour, turmeric powder, coconut milk and other ingredients, then folded in half like a taco and served with sweet and sour sauce. It’s commonly stuffed with sautéed minced pork, prawns, diced green onion and bean sprouts.
