Pakbeng

Pakbeng is a small town of Bakeo Province locating in the northern region of Laos distanced around 320km from Luang Prabang. Locating on the back of Mekong River, Pakeng include of 55 villages and some of minority ethnic groups. Being known these days as the halfway point between Huay Xai and Luang Prabang that almost cruising travel itinerary Thailand to Laos via Huay Xai border will be input with an overnight stop in Pakbeng. There are good lodgings and restaurants roundabout. Rivers were the main paths for transportation in Pakbeng that all ferries carrying people or cargo stop in this town for overnight.  These days, there is a new road connect Pakbeng to Oudomxay make the traversing easier to explore the town and its neighboring.
