Why Dong Hoi ?
Dong Hoi is the capital city of Quang Binh Province with famous Nhat Le Beach and Phong Nha Ke Bang National Park. During Vietnam War, as Dong Hoi is close by the DMZ, this city suffered the severe bombard and witnessed the fights. Dong Hoi was a small and sleepy area which attracted the domestic travelers by its 12km coastline. These days, adventurers mainly travel to Dong Hoi for the jungle escape in the National Park with listed a UNESCO World Natural Heritage. There are up to 300 big and small caves and grottos in the area; among those Son Doong Cave makes Quang Binh known widely as the largest cave in the world. There are various choices and itineraries for forest trekking, climbing, camping in Phong Nha Ke Bang which can be done partly in one day or up to 7 days to Tu Lan, Hang En Caves and so on. The most challenging to conquer might be Son Doong Cave expedition which requires for physical strengths, skills and a costly expense.
