Why Kampong Cham ?
Kampong Cham is a lowland region in center of Cambodia straddling the Mekong River leading to its name with “Kampong” means “Riverside” and “Cham” is an ethnic tribe. The place is featured by quite picturesque, with its busy morning streets besides the rivers, ancient temples and deep forest plantations. In Kampong Cham, sitting the world’s longest bamboo bridge. As an important trade and transportation hub, Kampong Cham is a jump-off spot to Kratie, Stung Treng, Mondulkiri and Rattanakiry provinces. The town, while having its fair share of history, hasn't forgotten to move ahead with time. With a new temple being built around old ruins and a new bridge being constructed near the Mekong River, Kampong Cham is a fine mix of the old and new. Like most areas of Cambodia, Kampong Cham has a tropical climate with summers more wet than winters.
