Sapa, a mountainous province 5.5-hour drive from Hanoi, is a favorite destination of many travelers by its picturesque landscape of terraced rice field, the idyllic mountainous scenes, colorful hill-tribe markets and the culture of some of minority groups whose houses spotting over the valleys. Sapa is backed by Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range with the inhabitants of ethnic groups Hmong, Dao, Tay, Giay making Sapa a region rich of culture and customs. Sapa is a jewel of Vietnam, though the main town is getting busy with the cluttering of new constructions.
