Why Sa Pa ?
Sapa, a mountainous province 5.5-hour drive from Hanoi, is a favorite destination of many travelers because of its picturesque landscape of terraced rice fields, the idyllic mountainous scenes, colorful hill-tribe markets and the culture of some minority groups whose houses spot over the valleys. Sapa is backed by the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range with the inhabitants of ethnic groups Hmong, Dao, Tay, and Giay making Sapa a region rich in culture and customs. Sapa is a jewel of Vietnam, though the main town is getting busy with the cluttering of new constructions. The treks to remote villages in Sapa like Nam Cang, Thanh Kim, and Thanh Phu are still lifetime experiences. Generally, to have a glance of Sapa, the visitors can hike to Cat Cat Village, Ta Van Village, and Ta Phin Village which caves on cliffs. Also, pay a visit to Heaven Gate, silver Waterfalls, or Fansipan Peak over 3,000m high can be accessed by cable car. There are two main ways to travel from Hanoi to Sapa either by night train or land drive. Find more information about Sapa at this Sapa Travel Guide before making your journey to Sapa.
