In the afternoon, travel to Buddha Park where lying roughly 200 statues of Buddhism and Hinduism deities. Dating back in 1958, the shaman priest Bunleua Sulilat create this Buddha Park reflecting his philosophy. Back to city center, you will have a short stop at The Patouxay one of the places to visit in Vientiane. This Arch de Triumph is the place to commemorate Lao people died in the war.
Drive 150km (93 miles) from Vientiane to Vang Vieng this morning. On the way, call at a H’mong village for a short visit. Also, you will visit at Nam Ngum Reservoir around 90km (56 miles) in the north of Vientiane. Boarding a local boat over picturesque giant lake or Laos beach, you can admire the nature and visit a local fishing village on islands. After around 1.5-hour sailing, have lunch at a boat restaurant. Thereupon, carry on the journey to Vang Vieng. Rest of the day will be on your own leisure.
You shall embark on a stunning Vang Vieng hiking itinerary today for authentic travel experiences in Laos. In the morning, journey to the East of Vang Vieng where you will begin the hike over greenish valley. The paths with lead you through rice paddies, karst mounts and the Heouysan Waterfall in the jungle. Enjoy the picnic lunch and some break, you then come down of the valley in another way with picturesque scenes. Upon your arrival at Ban Phonexai, you will see your driver and travel back to hotel in Vang Vieng. Explore Luang Prabang in the morning, you will visit some of Laos temples in Luang Prabang. The first stop is Wat Mai, a respectable royal shrine of 5 roofs structure whose location is on the same road with Luang Prabang Night Market. Then, you will stroll to the Royal Palace where was the home of royal family till 1975 when the communist Laos party came to power. After the end of Monarchy in Laos, the Palace was turned into the National Museum. In the museum, you will find variable royal items and images, the diplomatic presents from other countries as well as the most sacred Prabang Buddha of Laos. From the intriguing Royal Palace, walk along Mekong River and reach Wat Xieng Thong. Being the Royal Temple, Wat Xieng Thong displays some of the finest arts of Laos which make it the most terrific temple in Luang Prabang.
In the afternoon, board the wooden boat and sail along Mekong River to reach the renown Pak Ou Cave one of stunning places to see when travel in Luang Prabang. From these caves of Pak Ou on the limestone cliffs, you will have chance to behold thousands of Buddha statues in different positions like nirvana, standing, sitting, etc. Afterward, head back to Luang Prabang center by boat and rewind when the sun set. From evening onward, you will have free time to chill-out on your own at Luang Prabang night market.
Early this morning, stroll to a local pagoda and get to know the Alms Giving ritual in Luang Prabang. After the chanting at a pagoda or temple, the monks in saffron robes will walk in line around streets of Luang Prabang. Getting roundabout, you also descry different monks and observe local devotes offerings foods to the monks and nuns with the hope to accumulate their karma. Right in Luang Prabang center, you also see the bustling morning market with colorful local goods on sales. Afterwards, travel back to your hotel for breakfast and relax.
In the afternoon, travel to Ban Long Lao Kao, a Hmong ethnic village in Luang Prabang from where have a pleasant jungle hike passing local villages, plantations and enjoy the hardwood tree forest. In the end of the hike, you will find stunning Khuang Sy Waterfalls of terraced crystal pools nestling in the verdant green jungle. On the way back to hotel in Luang Prabang, you will pay a short visit at Ock Pop Tok which is a social enterprise displaying the finest textile of Laos. Touring around the colorful and cozy place, you will able to learn more about weaving and brocading processes in Laos.
