If you are interested in nature and wildlife, Can Gio Mangrove Forest, a sustainable biosphere reserve and mangrove forest with around 200 species of fauna and 50 species of flora, is the right choice for you. Main activities offered are boat ride into the Can Gio mangrove biosphere reserve where is the territory of fruit bats, visit to monkey island, and if it’s bird breeding period (normally from November to May) you will walk to the bird reserve area, visit crocodile lake, and so on.

Itinerary

You are picked up at the hotel lobby and driven around 70km southeast to Can Gio Mangrove Forest in approximately 1.5 hours. When you arrive, you will take a boat trip along the river and enter the bats' living area. Then walk into the bird reservation area to walk up to the watchtower for bird observation. You will have a chance to spot thousands of birds.

After lunch at the restaurant, you will walk to Crocodile Lake to learn more about this animal, and detect wild monkeys appearing at the forest’s edge. Finish the Can Gio mangrove forest full-day tour, and you will get back to Ho Chi Minh City with great memories.

Note: If you travel from April to October, which is not the bird breeding season but the hottest time with the longest daytime hours, we will replace bird observation with a salt-making visit to learn how local people make salt.
