Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City formerly called Saigon – the most developed city of Vietnam located in the southern region! Upon your arrival at Tan Son Nhat Airport, you will be welcomed by your tour guide, and you will travel to the hotel in the city center for check-in. The rest of the day will be spent at your leisure for refreshment, getting ready for your journey, and exploring things to do in Vietnam in 10 days.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will travel to Cu Chi Tunnels which lie deep down under the ground for interesting and detailed information about the Vietnam War. The Communist guerrilla troops first dug the tunnels for the fight against French colonial in the 1940s, and then Viet Minh fighters extended making it longer during the Vietnam War from 1954 - 1975.
After the exploration, you will travel to the city center for lunch. After lunch, pay visits to the main symbolic sites of Ho Chi Minh City including the War Remnant Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, Post Office, Reunification Palace, and Nguyen Hue Street. This evening is at your leisure.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will depart to the south of the city reaching the Mekong Delta region, one of the most tranquil places in the Vietnam custom tours. The amazing trip will offer the most authentic countryside of the Mekong Delta, fruity orchards, and local floating inhabitants. Travel to Ben Tre, the famous hometown of coconuts, and reach the Phong Nam Pier to board a boat along An Hoa River for further exploration with stops to visit the brick kiln, handicrafts, and coconut candies-making workshop. Next, have a Vietnamese tuk-tuk ride passing coconut and fruit plantations. You then will stop for lunch at a local house. After lunch, you can relax in the hammock or walk around and see the fruit orchids. Thereupon, get on the sampan row and then motor-boat to return to the mainland where your driver is awaited. Travel back to Ho Chi Minh City, and you will reach the hotel late afternoon.
Have leisure time on your own this morning. After check-out, your local tour guide and driver will greet you at the hotel lobby travel to Tan Son Nhat Airport, and take the domestic flight to Da Nang. Upon your arrival at Da Nang Airport, you are greeted by the local guide and driver then travel to your hotel in Hoi An the next destination in your travel plan in Vietnam.
This afternoon, you will travel to Hoi An Ancient Town, a bustling trading port of Vietnam. The Japanese and Chinese traders (others could be named Dutch, Italian, etc.) came back and forth so regularly that they even resided here in the town. When they left, their houses, restaurants, etc. became legacies. You will walk along the street by street and stop at old houses whose designs are influenced by oriental and colonial architects, museums displaying vivid collections of living, religious temples, etc. Soon, you will find the iconic “Pagoda Bridge” and learn the interesting stories that happened years ago. After a long walk, treat yourself to a nice boutique café named “Reaching Out” to sip a teacup and have some refreshments. After the walking tour, you will travel to your hotel by car.
Tips: If you are still eager to discover the town, you can get a bike and have a pleasant ride around Hoi An on your own. The place gets busier at night with traditional activities, dining, café, etc.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will jump on a bike and ride to the countryside area of Hoi An and delve into the peaceful ambiance of Hoi An countryside. You will reach Tra Que Vegetable Village where you can follow a villager and see dozens of herbs categories, and vegetables and even join their works to plow the land, plant the veg, and do watering. After experiencing local daily work, you will relax and have lunch with tasty local cuisines served with the vegetables harvested from their garden. Following is the foot massage. You then, will have some time to relax on the hammock before cycling back to the hotel early this afternoon.
This afternoon is at your leisure to chill out at a hotel or stroll around the ancient town to explore the narrow pretty alleys admire the architecture or try local dishes.
This morning, you will check out the hotel and travel to Hue via Lang Co Beach and Hai Van Pass where you can stop en route and take photos of the breathtaking view over the ocean.
This afternoon, you will visit the Imperial Citadel built since Gia Long King's rule and listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1993. As time goes by, the citadel is still there and remains partly; but it is worth visiting the city’s symbol. Move on with Thien Mu Pagoda meaning “Mountain of Lady from Heaven” with the seven-storey tower named Phuoc Duyen.
Optional arrangement (no extra cost): If you wish to try a local train but are afraid of tiredness due to the noise and too basic standard amenities, here is your chance to overcome all these obstacles. The local tour guide and driver will transfer you to the Da Nang Rail station and get the 2.5-hour train to Hue. This short ride offers a unique opportunity to have an incredible ocean view as the railway is close to it.
This morning, you will stroll to the Dong Ba Market to have a closer look at the local living style and afterward, you will get to a pier and embark on the local boat getting along the Perfume River. After 1.5 hours of leisure on the local boat, you will reach Minh Mang Temple and pay a visit to the tomb of some 40 monuments.
This afternoon, you will travel to Phu Bai Airport and take the domestic flight to Hanoi. Upon your arrival at Noi Bai Airport, be greeted by your local driver and tour guide, and then travel to the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will delve into the marvelous city tour discovering Hanoi. Begin with the Tran Quoc Pagoda sited on the peninsula on West Lake – the biggest lake in Hanoi (around 5.3sqkm). Besides its remarkable location, Tran Quoc Pagoda is the oldest pagoda in Vietnam dating back to the 6th century. Moving on to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum situated right at Ba Dinh Square preserves the Ho Chi Minh President’s embalmed body by the technique of the Soviet Union. Nearby the mausoleum, you also have a chance to visit Ho Chi Minh’s house-on-stilts where he stayed in the last eleven years of his life; and the President's Palace which still functioned as the political reception and working place of the nation's incumbent leader. Next, let’s stop at a local restaurant and have a delicious lunch of authentic dishes from Vietnam and Hanoi.
After lunch, Let’s carry on your day trip in Hanoi with the Temple of Literature built in 1070 well-known as the first university of Vietnam. Finish the trip; you will travel back to the hotel. Lastly, you will discover Hanoi Old Quarter by strolling around the matrix of small but crowded alleys and streets. The place was the busiest commercial hub between Vietnamese and Chinese traders. Every single street’s name is unique and typical by one meaning. The tour guide will help you break the mysteries. During the walking tour, you will stop at a local café for a cup of traditional Vietnamese coffee (Nâu Đá – Iced coffee/ Cà Phê Trứng – Egg Coffee or Trà Đá – Vietnamese iced tea, etc.)
After breakfast at the hotel, you will check out the rooms and travel to Ha Long Bay among the best places on your Vietnam 10-day itinerary. After around 2.5 hours traversing by Red River Delta provinces, you will reach the marina harbor and embark on the cruise; then set the sails toward captivating Ha Long Bay with nearly 2,000 karst islands merging up from the ocean. The sails will take a couple of hours till you reach the center for outdoor excursions like hiking to Halong Bay cave, kayaking in the lagoon, and visiting the cave. In the evening, the boat will anchor down for overnight. You are free on board at night.
For morning risers, you are encouraged to wake up early at around 6:00 am to practice the Tai Chi exercise on the top deck with the master on board. After breakfast, you will have time to go swimming on Titop Island and walk up to the peak for the Ha Long Panorama view. Then, you will get back to the mainland. Spend your last time to enjoy the fantastic scenes of Ha Long Bay. At noon, disembark the boat and travel back to Hanoi. En route, you will head to Noi Bai Airport for your outbound departure.
