Welcome to Hanoi, the charming capital and cultural city in Vietnam!
Upon your arrival, you're greeted by your tour guide and then head to a hotel in the city center to rest. The rest of the day will be at your leisure to get rid of jet lag. You will have a lovely welcome dinner at a colonial-era restaurant in Hanoi.
After breakfast at the hotel, you will take an excursion to gain an insight into Hanoi. You will visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, located in front of Ba Dinh Square. This iconic building in Hanoi is where the embalmed body of President Ho Chi Minh, one of the most significant figures in Vietnam's independence, is preserved. In this complex, you can also take a walk to the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh President’s house on stilts, and the One Pillar Pagoda. Afterward, you will have a private cooking class to get a true taste of Vietnamese cuisine.
This afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Literature, Vietnam's first university. The temple is located on two premises: the national school for royal students and the Confucius temple. Lastly, you will take a cyclo ride around the Old Quarter of Hanoi.
Explore the other side of Hanoi this morning with a vintage jeep. The ride reveals authentic corners of Hanoi where you can observe local lifestyles and explore its backstreets. This 4-hour tour of Hanoi promises a chance to immerse yourself further in the city.
The rest of the day will be at your leisure to chill out at the hotel in Hanoi.
Leaving Hanoi this morning, you will depart for Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is characterized by thousands of interlocking karst islands. The boat will sail toward the central core area of Halong Bay; meanwhile, you will enjoy the tasty lunch and admire the fascinating scenery. In the afternoon, you will have a short hike to see the huge dry cave on Halong Bay, which showcases a lively display of natural stalactites and stalagmites. Thereupon, enjoy a leisurely sunset and overnight on a boat.
Carry on exploring Halong this morning; you will take a bamboo boat ride (or go kayaking) to a lagoon. When returning to the boat, you will carry on the sail to see other parts of Halong Bay. After lunch on your boat, you will disembark and return to Hanoi. Heading to the airport, you will take a domestic flight from Hanoi to Da Nang.
Upon arriving in Da Nang, you are greeted by your local tour guide and then driven to your hotel in Hoi An to stay overnight. Have dinner at your hotel.
This morning, you will take a pleasant walk through the Hoi An Old Quarter, a cultural corner preserving the original architectural blend of Asian and European styles. Stop by the temples of different clans in Hoi An, the museums, and see the Bridge Pagoda. There are boutique cafes, local shops of tailor-made products, leather handicrafts, and traditional silk products in Hoi An.
Afterward, have a short cycling ride through the countryside in Hoi An to Tra Que vegetable village. Enjoy lunch there with organic vegetables and herbs from Tra Que Village. Thereupon, return to your hotel to relax.
Today will be your leisure time to enjoy your stay at the Hoi An resort.
After check-out, you will travel to Da Nang Airport for the flight to Ho Chi Minh City. This late afternoon, have a Vespa ride to gain a glance of this vibrant city. Ho Chi Minh City, located in southern Vietnam, is the most populous and developed city in Vietnam. This city is characterized by a lively atmosphere and a bustling lifestyle.
This morning, you will visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, a historical site in southern Vietnam. This area is a system of underground tunnels used as hiding places, weapons warehouses, kitchens, clinics, and more. The visit to Cu Chi will provide more insight into the major wars in Vietnam: the War Against the French colonial power and the Vietnam War.
Returning to the city center, you will see the iconic attractions in Ho Chi Minh, including the city Post Office and the Notre Dame Cathedral. Then, it’s optional to choose between a visit to the War Remnants Museum to learn more about Vietnam's history and a visit to Saigon's Chinatown. It’s the largest Chinatown in the world where people of Chinese origin community. You will visit the Thian Hou Temple and the Binh Tay Market in Chinatown.
Today, you are at your leisure at your hotel or have free time for shopping. At an appointed hour, you will see your tour guide and travel to the airport for your flight to the next destination!
