Our Hanoi full-day tour itinerary introduces the most prominent attractions of Hanoi so you can get to know this city well. Renowned as the capital of Vietnam, Hanoi is charming for its thousand-year history, rich culture, and iconic architecture. There are quintessences and traditions that make up a unique lifestyle in Hanoi. Besides covering things to do in Hanoi, you will gain an in-depth understanding of the city through interesting stories.
Begin the full-day Hanoi City tour with a visit to Tran Quoc Pagoda for the most serene, tranquil, and peaceful ambiance in the morning. Tran Quoc Pagoda is well known as Hanoi's oldest pagoda, built in the 6th century. Centuries have passed, and the pagoda has been relocated several times; it remains special for its construction and its ideal location on an island in the West Lake. When you visit the pagoda, you will learn more about Buddhist practices and beliefs in Vietnam.
Afterward, move to Ho Chi Minh Complex, where they embalm the most respected national hero's body, Ho Chi Minh, after his death in 1969. You will tour the Mausoleum, the Presidential Palace, and Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts to learn more about his greatness, simplicity, and the spirit that continues to inspire the Vietnamese to this day. Located in the same area, you will find the One Pillar Pagoda constructed in the special shape of a lotus. Lately, have a rest and lunch at local restaurant served with a set menu of local dishes offering most authentic tastes.
This afternoon, continue the city tour of Hanoi with the Temple of Literature, renowned as Vietnam's first university, built in 1070, where the country's talents were raised and fostered. The temple plays a significant role in inspiring Vietnamese students in their studies.
Next stop: Hanoi Old Quarter, characterized by small streets with colonial-style houses and shops selling a wide range of products, from traditional and handmade items to modern goods like bamboo water pipes, lanterns, fashion, Hanoi coffee, draught beer, shoes, candies, street food, and pubs. Meander through every street beginning with the word “Hang”, which means “store”, as this place was a bustling commercial hub between Vietnamese and Chinese traders. We also pass by Ancient House and St. Joseph's Cathedral, and finish the tour at Hoan Kiem Lake, with the Red Bridge leading to Ngoc Son Temple on Jade Island.
